Legos are used as building blocks in a new construction company that is building a new building in an industrial park in the Bronx.
The company, Messer Construction, says it hopes to open a new office space in the industrial park next year.
The new office is expected to be the first of its kind in the city, and the first new building on Manhattan’s Lower East Side in decades.
The building is part of a project to transform a former manufacturing site into a multi-use complex.
Messer is using Legos to create an office space that includes a new dining hall and a cafe.
The project is part to the city’s ambitious New York Future Challenge, which aims to spur the development of the city into the 21st century.
New York Mayor Bill de Blasio, a Democrat, said he is committed to rebuilding the city with the help of Legos.
He called Messer’s project “an inspiration” and said the city should “reject the ideology that Legos and Lego are the end of the world.”
The company has raised about $20 million in funding from investors, including hedge fund Renaissance Technologies.
In January, Messers sister company, Kitco Construction, completed a new $200 million, 1.3-million-square-foot office complex in the heart of Brooklyn.
The complex includes a 1,500-seat restaurant, offices, a sports arena, a retail center and a high-tech center.
The development, called The Village at East 68th Street, is the second phase of the company’s plan to open two more office spaces.
